While working on Zentangles I discovered a love for drawing simplified flowers in ink and then coloring more realistically with colored pencil. I've been experimenting with using "white spirits" on a blending stump to blend the colors, which makes them appear less textured and more solid, rather like watercolors. I'm still very new at this and most of my flowers are colored from memory as to where to place shadows and such. I've been using line drawings from a book as a guide, but all my drawings are free handed, not in any way traced or photocopied. So here's a sampling....some of the earlier ones don't have that blending technique, but are just blended with a blending pencil.
So that's what I've been busy with lately. I'm also rather excited about my little art space I recently set up,, with the help of my handy hubby. I will let you see all that in my next post.
